As a benchmark expectation during virtual programming, scholars will participate in SAT preparation workshops with TMs. The priority is to teach scholars the SAT STRATEGIES that will help them increase scores. Other math support will help scholars learn the content and how to solve problems, so this course is focused on strategies. Please inquire about Princeton Review support for instructors, if needed. Scholars should use Khan Academy for SAT practice. If they have not yet taken a PSAT with school or an official SAT, they can take a diagnostic test first on Khan Academy. PSAT tests with UB are not on CollegeBoard. Scholars will be placed in SAT prep as needed based on scores or their lack of.
In this section of the website, you will find information about your test prep for Upward Bound. Please reach out your coordinator or assigned TM with any questions.
All scholars who haven’t tested will participate in ACCUPLACER preparation. Additionally, scholars who have not yet placed at the English LVL 4 or Math 118 level, will also be placed in prep. A scholar may be assigned to either or both preparation workshops as determined by their score or their lack of. Scholars will take a diagnostic test on the app. Scholars will need to create an account first and select the First Generation tests. After the diagnostic, TMs will help scholars work through the practice packets here.
AP EXAM PREP
The AP test will be released as an online test nearing the end of the semester. Scholars enrolled in AP courses and registered to take the test are eligible to test online if they have a computer, internet, and headphones. Scholars not registered to take the test may elect to participate as final exams are often versions of AP exams. Scholars will be placed based on their enrollment in a course. AP offerings listed here with CollegeBoard support.
